We created The Aye Life, a Scottish Blog featuring travel & lifestyle content, in December of 2016. During this period, we amassed a highly-engaged social media following of over 50,000 people and a keen readership from all over the world. During this time we were privileged to work with the following brands;
The Ritz Carlton, Tales of the Cocktail, Marriott Hotels, BBC Sport, Village Hotels, Malmaison, Apex, Raddison, Spirit of Speyside, Royal Highland Show, Fife Arms, Braemar Gathering, Tennents, Bombay Sapphire, Sailor Jerry, VW, Edinburgh Gin, MINI, LUSH, Caledonian Sleeper, DIAGEO, Visit Scotland, Visit New Orleans, Principal Hotels, The Royal Yacht Britannia, Rabbies & Photo Walk Scotland.
The Aye Life has gone from strength to strength and has digitally paved the way for The Aye Agency, a Scottish creative digital marketing company.
Digital Marketing Scotland
The Aye Agency is a Scottish Digital Marketing Agency with a network of skilled content creators, website designers, social media specialists and SEO consultants in Scotland who create, design, learn and inspire every day.
We are not a traditional marketing agency. The nature of our work is nature, we love Scotland’s diverse landscape and take great pleasure in travelling the country and meeting clients in all corners of the land. We pair our travels with our blog, The Aye Life, to ensure that we sustainably promote Scottish tourism whilst on our agency travels.
But the best part of working with The Aye Agency? A personal, passionate and perfectionist approach from the team who know digital.
The Aye Agency is your unique digital department with Scotland at the very heart.
Aye on the road
Aberdeen & the North east
We call Aberdeenshire our base as that’s where we live but seeing as we are on the road so much and because our digital creators are spread out across Scotland, we don’t necessarily have a fixed base and that is exactly how we like it. We can work on marketing in Aberdeen, whilst also working on marketing in Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow and so on, whilst on the road, hence Aye on the Road.
However, we love working on Aberdeen web design, marketing, and social media because Aberdeenshire is our home and when we come across an opportunity to contribute towards the North East Economy, we jump at the chance.
We have found a trend in working with Aberdeen businesses as almost every single one that has contacted us, to date, has been a family business. We like to support local, independent and family businesses wherever possible and as this ties into our philosophy.
But there certainly isn’t a trend in the kind of products we market in Aberdeenshire as we have covered everything from drilling equipment at Drillchem, candles, and diffusers at Angelic Aromas, local and online gifting at Pink Ginger and even the North East’s best coffee, at SYMPOSIUM (perhaps we are biased). Here are some kind words from our Aberdeen marketing clients.
Creative marketing in Skye
The Isle of Skye is one of the most inspiring destinations in Scotland. From the rich beauty and brisk breezes of the Quiraing to the wondrous peaks of the rugged Black Cuillins, the diverse landscape ignites our creativity every time we visit. Skye is becoming increasingly popular with visitors to Scotland and due to the demand, businesses in tourism have been reaping the benefits.
In one such example, we were invited to the Isle of Skye with our Scottish Blog, The Aye Life, for a week-long photography tour with Photo Walk Scotland, who offer photography experiences all over the country, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, and the Scottish Islands.
During our trip, we were blown away by the incredible life-affirming experience offered by Photo Walk Scotland, and couldn’t wait for the opportunity to share this far and wide.
Tourism marketing in Scotland has its challenges due to the wealth of competition but we knew we had the right attributes to help Photo Walk Scotland stand out.
We agreed on a partnership between The Aye Agency and PWS on redesigning their website, creating SEO-rich content and managing their social media channels to improve their reach.
Inverness & the highlands
Inverness is a hotspot for tourism, with many local businesses offering tours and excursions in and around the Highland capital. We visit Inverness and the Highlands almost every month to meet with clients, host social media training sessions and capture content for The Aye Life, our Scottish Blog. Inverness is a fantastic base for exploring both the local area and the incredibly scenic Highlands.
We have had the great pleasure of working with Walk Inverness, a local tourism business, to create a brand new website, apply SEO and advise on content marketing. This business now ranks on Google for a number of terms which has improved site traffic and encouraged sales. This is what Cath at Walk Inverness had to say about us;
“Scott built me a website and within 2 weeks it was up and running and I was making money! Brilliant service “
We have also had the joy of working with the luxurious, Foyers Lodge with both our Scottish Blog and on Social Media and SEO training. This is what Anna at Foyers Lodge had to say about us;
“I needed assistance familiarising myself with a number of online tools and marketing options for my business and am so pleased I called in The A(ye) Team. I bow to their superior knowledge of all things Facebook, Google, SEO, Insta, Twitter, etc and commend them on their patience and clear instruction whilst showing me the ropes. It’s well worth the time and effort (and fee) for their training sessions as you will be fully enabled to get on and run these channels for yourself if you are up for it. If you’re not – they can do it for you!! Brill. 5-star superstars.”
HARRIS AND LEWIS, OUTER HEBRIDES
They do say that one trip to the Isle of Harris is never enough and it is hardly surprising considering the abundance of beautiful beaches, lochs, wild peaks, and rugged and contrasting scenery. We can’t stay away from the place. Harris has gained momentum in recent years as more and more tourists visit to experience the Island’s mindfulness and beauty.
Harris, like the other Scottish Islands, has the challenge of managing footfall, both in sustainably encouraging visitors to the Island and endeavouring to increase the Island’s natural population. We found ourselves on both ends of the spectrum in two of our recent Harris projects.
When we were contacted by Lickisto Blackhouse Camping, a start-up with no more than a handful of yurts, two historic blackhouses and an enviable plot of land on the South of Harris, we couldn’t wait to get stuck in.
Marketing Harris is easy as the place is a natural wonder, but encouraging visitors to make the trip to the Scottish Island, and then travel to the complete wilderness to a brand new campsite, with no reviews and no online presence whatsoever, could be seen as a challenge. We set to work on producing a slick, effective and SEO-rich website design for our Harris client, before creating social media channels and a wealth of epic content. Suffice to say, Lickisto Blackhouse Camping was a hit, and has been fully booked since!
On the other end of the scale, the Scottish Islands are tasked with managing the population, and we found ourselves working closely with the Hebridean Housing Partnership on creating a brand new speedy and user-friendly website that made the housing process much more accessible.
17, the number of times we visit Edinburgh each year. Edinburgh is the city of golden opportunities, both as a visitor and as a content creator. There is always something happening in the Scottish Capital, and when we aren’t visiting with The Aye Life, we are meeting with Agency clients.
We recently had the opportunity of working with the 5* Old Millhouse, just outside of the Scottish capital. The Old Millhouse is a sympathetic restoration of a listed stone house, built in 1703, with unique and luxurious furnishings and it’s own outdoor swim spa. We created a brand new website, incorporated SEO into fresh content, and temporarily took over social media management to increase engagement, reach and follower numbers.
We can often be found in Edinburgh capturing content, collaborating with brands such as The Principal Hotel with The Aye Life, and working with tourism businesses on social media marketing, SEO training, and content.
